May Newsletter

Dear Brothers, Sisters and Volunteers:
‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’ (John 20:29) NIV
After Easter, Heritage often shares the story of Thomas, especially the episode described in John 20:24-29. Thomas was unable to witness the resurrection of Jesus because of his absence. Thomas demanded to see Jesus’ wounds for himself to believe, so Jesus said to Thomas, ” Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed“ . Jesus is not only encouraging to Thomas, but a profound lesson for all Christians. It teaches us that faith is not based on the evidence of sight, but on the testimony of God’s Word and witness, and that we should aspire to dedicate ourselves to the Lord and to participate actively in the ministry of the Kingdom of Heaven.
The Housing Department (HD) has commenced ceiling repairs at CMVIP in April as the ceiling is in a serious spalling condition and the damaged pipes will be replaced. It is expected that the HD will start the fire sprinkler works in early May and the whole project is expected to be completed by the end of May. We pray that everything will go smoothly and safely.
Give thanks to God! On 15 April, CMVIP held a meditation session on the Feast of the Passion. This time, we chose to hold the session at the peaceful Tao Fong Shan and invited a spiritual director to go with us. We thanked our Heavenly Father for the beautiful weather and we meditated on the suffering and love of Jesus under the big cross. The peace and quiet of the moment touched our hearts.
Ministry Needs and Prayers:
1.Please pray for funding for the renovation of CMVIP, which is still $600,000 in arrears. Pray for more brothers and sisters to join in supporting and praying for us.
2.Please pray for the renovation of CMVIP. Pray that the works of the Housing Department will be carried out smoothly and that all repairs and replacement of pipes will be completed in a safe and efficient manner.
3.Please pray for members to make good use of the CMVIP VOICE app. More then 250 visually impaired members are using the app with a monthly click-through rate of 1,500, praying that the Lord would help them to develop a habit of continuous reading.
4.Please pray for the use of TEXT TO SPEECH (TTS), as new problems are discovered in its use each week, we pray that the Heavenly Father will give our visually impaired co-workers the wisdom and ability to discuss with the developers how to improve the tool.
